BIA Russian Knapweed Projects

In the fall of 2009 Fremont County Weed and Pest started two Russian Knapweed projects on the WRIR.  The purpose of these projects was to concentrate our treatment efforts to designated areas where we could treat all of the Russian Knapweed in those areas, as well as on the adjacent lands. This approach gave us more effective control by eliminating all of the seed production within the designated areas, and allowed us to be more effective in our follow-up surveys in those designated areas for any escapes from previous treatments.

Treatment Area Map

We are currently looking at possible future Russian Knapweed project sites around the Ethete and Ft. Washakie areas.
