Weed Management Area Weed Tours Planned for the Summer

Weed Tours are one of the mechanisms that we use to increase weed awareness and educate the public about weeds, weed control and our weed control programs in Fremont County. Weed and Pest Districts are required by law to have an annual weed tour.

In Fremont County there are three weed management areas which are organized with close cooperation of the three conservation districts around the boundaries of the districts. The Dubois/Crowheart Weed Management Area (DCWMA) was the first established in Fremont County and has been very active and effective since 2002. In January 2006 the Popo Agie Weed Management Area (PAWMA) was formed to serve the southern area of the County. The Lower Wind River Weed Management Area (LWRWMA) area is the newest, serving the northeast corner of Fremont County.

Each of these areas has a weed tour sometime during the summer months.

Transportation and lunches are provided on all of our tours.

For more information please call the Weed & Pest office 332-1052 in the Lander area or 857-3686 in Riverton or email at nancy@fcwp.org.
