HELP US TRACK THE GRASSHOPPER OUTBREAK THIS SUMMER. DETAILS HERE
Grasshoppers are state designated pests. In Fremont County, several species of grasshoppers are almost always present in low numbers but the county experiences large scale outbreaks that can cause significant damage about every 7 to 10 years. The last time grasshopper populations reached damaging levels in Fremont County was in 2019 and 2020.
Staff from FCWP and USDA-APHIS conduct annual surveys throughout the county to monitor grasshopper populations and detect outbreaks. If an outbreak occurs, FCWP has a cost-share program and controls available.
